Carl Saunders - Bandmaster
 
 
 

Carl was the principal cornet player and soloist in Canton band since 1988 until his appointment as Bandmaster of the Cardiff Canton Salvation Army Band in 2007.

As a soloist he has performed in many countries including Holland, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Canada, Australia and the United Sates.

He has also been principal cornet with the Household Troops Band for six years and in that time, took on the possition of Deputy Bandmaster of the band.

Carl has featured as a soloist with many of the finest Salvation Army bands including Enfield and Hendon Corps bands as well as the International Staff Band, with whom he appeared as guest soloist at Bandmasters' Councils festival at the Royal Albert Hall in 1998.

In October of 2010 Carl was appointed as Bandmaster after the retirement of Major John Mott. Carl has given many faithful years of service to God though his music and this is sure to continue though his new post with the Household Troops.
